Welcome to BIBLIOBOOST.NET, school library online management tool.
Biblioboost.net is a free interactive website that allows you to manage a school library online.

This is an application created by teachers for teachers so as to:
  • Manage the books and users within your library via a teacher interface
  • Create home-made Reading Quizzes
  • Allow students to manage their own loans, to do some searches and to take Reading Quizzes via a student interface
  • Share the Reading Quizzes and book entries with all the schools registered with Biblioboost.net
Once registered, you can manage your library like a traditional software, however you are not required to install anything on your computers: you work on a distant server with your navigator.

This solution offers portability (you can use Biblioboost.net with Windows, Linux or Mac) and comfort (you can access the library from any computer provided you have your User ID and password at hand).
To tour this site and see what you can do, follow the three links below:

If you want to register:

After being registered, you will receive a username and a password allowing you to use this site.

  • Mercredi 2 juillet 2008:

Merci à Thomas Fleith, Animateur Tice 1er degré en Côte d'Or.
  • Saturday, March 8th 2008: Setting up the guest accounts. You can allow your students or their parents to access the school library from their home. The choice of access rights for your guests is up to you. On the student interface, students can only check their loans (and see if some are past-due) and do a book search.
  • Friday, January 25th 2008: Before introducing a number of important modifications, I had to reorganise the tool bar. It's all done. Now you have a bar with colours which I find more pleasant to use. The sections have been slightly modified : they are easier to read.

Have you noticed Tux who is sitting on the bar? Tux (created by L. Ewing in 1996) is Linux's symbol and more broadly speaking the symbol of the freeware world. Biblioboost completley fits in this idea of freeware and sharing out : schools and their students share book descriptions and Reading Quizzes, we share our ideas and skills – you make interesting proposals for development and I develop them, with Linux and freeware only: Kate, The Gimp, gFTP and Firefox. Moreover biblioboost is hosted by a Linux server which is full of freeware: Apache, Mysql and Php among others.

And we also choose Linux because, at the beginning, biblioboost was created for a school using Linux only, with Edubuntu. That was a good choice!
